Pradeep Sood is a successful entrepreneur, business leader and community activist who is passionate about economic development and the wellbeing of all Canadians.
In 2014, as co-owner of Highbury Canco Corporation, Pradeep was instrumental in saving 250 jobs in the Leamington, Ontario community through the purchase of the Heinz Canada food processing facility. Since 2014, Highbury Canco has expanded its operations to employ more than 600 full time workers at the facility, and has quadrupled its production, contributing to economic growth in Leamington.
Pradeep has over 40 years of international experience at the operations and management levels in Asia, Africa and North America. This extensive experience lends itself to his knowledge of and commitment to diversity and multiculturalism.
In line with his passion for giving back to community, Pradeep has chaired and planned numerous fundraisers to support causes including the Markham Stouffville Hospital, Royal Ontario Museum, Victims of Fort McMurray fire disaster, Textile Museum of Canada and Bridge point Active Health Care.
Pradeep has served as Chairman of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce and President of the Indo Canada Chamber of Commerce. He has also served on business boards at municipal, provincial and federal levels of government.
He is currently the President of the Board of Commonwealth Games Foundation of Canada.
Pradeep graduated with an Honours in Economics from the University of Delhi, and holds a Chartered Accountant designation from ICAI, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors at the Rotman School of Management, Toronto.
